Star Wars Birthday Cake

This was the second cake I got paid for. Cole loves Star Wars, especially the Jedi (Luke Skywalker) and Lightsabers. I made a marble cake (which he also requested) and covered it in buttercream icing. I used the Frozen Buttercream Transfer Method (thanks to http://www.soggycheerios.com/archives/197 for the instructions) for Luke and the words (which are in the format Star Wars uses in the beginning of their movie). For Luke, I printed out a coloring book page online from http://www.kidscolorpages.com/starwars.htm and then followed the FBTM. I also piped blue and green lightsabers for the border around the bottom of the cake and used edible shimmer powder in the appropriate colors for an "Illuminating" effect. He thought it was awesome and it fit in with his Star Wars themed party perfectly!

Boob Birthday Cake for the Boss

This was a "special request" cake I did for my boss, Cody's birthday; his wife, Chris, thought he would like it (and boy he did!). It was a Red Velvet cake (his favorite), so when you cut into it it looked like it was bleeding. The icing was a cream cheese buttercream; it melted quickly and took awhile to harden, which is why you can see the ripples on the boobs. I used the top of my giant cupcake pan for the 'mounds' and a large cake pan for the bottom. When the time came, I stuck extremely long candles down through the nipples and lit them. It was a blast!

Double Decker Baby Shower Cake

I did this cake for a co-worker's baby shower; they weren't finding out the gender of the baby, so it's a "unisex" cake. I also made it "double decker" style with white cake on the bottom and chocolate cake for the stork. I used Wilton's Special Delivery pan for the stork. I couldn't get the consistancy of the icing right, so it turned out kind of "holey". It was still a hit though and was delicious!!!

Hollywood Cake

I did this cake for my sister's birthday party. She had a "Hollywood" themed party with colors of Black, Gold & Silver. I used Wilton's Giant Cupcake pan, buttercream & chocolate buttercream (for the black) icing, edible shimmer dust all over the cake and the stars are made of fondant. It was a big hit!

Double Decker Flower Cake

This is the first cake I got paid for! It was a "double decker" as I call them; It can also be called a 2-tiered cake. It was for a little girl turning 11 years old. The bottom "deck" was white and the top "deck" was chocolate. I used Wilton's Dancing Daisy pan for the flower. She thought it was SO cool; they ate off of it for days!

Easter Cupcakes

These are cupcakes I made for my family Easter gathering. They were SO moint and yummy! I used the "inside-out star" method.

Birthday Cake for my Boss

This was the cake I did for my boss, Chris, for her birthday. It was the first cake I did outside of my class for someone else. It was my present to her (and everyone else loved it, too!).

My Cake Class Cakes

Since I was interested in cake decorating, I enrolled in a Wilton Cake decorating class this past spring. I hope to one day open my own cake decorating business. Here are the cakes I did for the class:
